As 3D Movie Maker progressed, the programmers added sound so that the characters didn't use balloons. Initially it was picked up by the team working on Microsoft 3D Movie Maker for use in speech balloons. I started to make the font in October 1994.
I also noticed that many people were inappropriately using drafting lettering in comic speech balloons. There was a consistent style used in comics, which was quite unlike the style of lettering you see in newspaper cartoon strips. As Microsoft Creative Writer had a need for fun fonts, I had an idea to make a lettering script similar to the lettering used by the major comic books. During 1994 I noticed that a large number of cartoon/comic style software titles were under development at Microsoft. A note from Vincent Connare, Comic Sans' designer. Although it might be seen as a novelty typeface, which is great for titles, it's also extremely readable on-screen at small sizes, making it a useful text face. Classic Comic supports all popular formats and letters in most Central, Eastern, and Western European languages as well as Baltic, Maltese, Turkish, etc.Comic Sans MS is the groovy script font which was first supplied with the Windows 95 Plus! pack. So why limit comic fonts only to Comic Sans MS and comic books? And perhaps have a try and using comic fonts for your greeting cards, headlines, posters, invitations and website logos? Classic Comic designed by Patrick Griffin is a typical font family of comic style. Therefore comic fonts by no means should be confined to comic books. Comic fonts look fun, yet they are not limited to that: they are funny but not that fancy, they are eligible yet creative, they invoke unlimited energy, vigorous imagination besides humor. But there are more comics fonts to know in addition to Comic Sans MS.
Probably the only comic font most people know well is the Comic Sans MS that is available on Windows computer. They often appear in the creation of a comic book including titles, logos, and the text. Comic fonts are funny fonts usually related to a comic book or children. Except for the illustration and storyline in the comic books that attracted us, fonts used in the comic books also make characters and stories more attractive, emotional. Comics may have been a good companion for many people in their childhood.
